Plain Pasta Sauce

Ingredients
2 tablespoons sunflower oil
1-2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 small brown onion, peeled and finely chopped
1 bottle (500mL-700mL variety) of Tomato Passata Sauce* (sugo)
1 teaspoon fresh finely chopped oregano
2 tablespoons tomato paste*
500g white rice or
500g pasta of choice*
Method
Brown garlic and onions with oil in a pot over a low heat until
transparent.
Add passata sauce, tomato paste and herbs, and simmer gently
uncovered (or half covered with lid).
The longer you simmer the sauce the tastier it will be. I simmer my
sauce all afternoon.
Add to rice, pasta shells or spaghetti of choice or serve with boiled/steamed rice. I find that you can then please all members of
the family with this recipe!
Optional
Try adding stewing steak, green peas and chickpeas
with this recipe for extra goodness!
